The Fox Cove series

A year in the cove

The series runs a full turn of the mountain calendar — late summer through the following June. Every book stands alone, every book ends happy, and no book ends on a cliffhanger. Start anywhere. Most readers start at the beginning.

The setting

Fox Cove, North Carolina

A long, narrow valley about thirty-five miles north of Asheville, where two creeks meet to make the Foxwater River. One street wide and a mile long. Around two thousand people, and it doubles in summer.

A working town

Potters, glassblowers, woodworkers and weavers, paired with fly fishing, hospitality and the seasonal trade. Most people here work more than one job, and the books say so.

Eight generations

Four families anchor the cove — Welch, Reece, Patton and Cooper — alongside newer arrivals, back-to-the-landers, and everyone who came for a season and stayed.

After the water

The cove is still rebuilding from the 2024 storm. The Old Bridge went out and came back. It is not what these books are about, but it is in every one of them.

About

Isabelle Cornett

Isabelle Cornett writes contemporary romance about small mountain towns and the people who choose to stay in them.

She is drawn to stories where the place is a character in its own right, where the work people do for a living actually matters to the plot, and where the ending has to be earned before it is given. She writes about grown people with histories, and about love that costs something.

Fox Cove is her first series.
